

Charlotte Grace Weagley Shipp, 86, entered into eternal peace with our Lord and Savior on March, 7, 2014, at her daughter Dixie’s home in Austin, TX, after a lengthy illness. She went peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side.
Charlotte was born on April 21, 1927. She was born in Lantz, MD to Omar and Grace Weagley. She worked various jobs during her lifetime but being a Mother was her most fulfilling. She married the late Lemuel H. Shipp and together they travelled much during his 34-year military career. Charlotte was a very kind and gentle soul, had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She enjoyed flowers, travel, family, holidays and helped at the Killeen Lion’s Club Senior Center.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, Lemuel Shipp in 1980, her eldest daughter, Patricia Mae Hewitt in 2012 and four brothers, Ralph, Hubert, Gerald, and Merhl Weagley and one sister, Freda Draper.
She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her family and friends. Her survivors include loving sisters, Hilda Valencia of Bethlehem, PA, and Elva Schultz, of Fredrick, MD; adoring daughters, Dixie Lee Evatt of Austin; Claudine Cook Stone and her husband T.H. of Wichita Falls, TX; Brenda Sue Buck and her husband Joe of Harker Heights.
She was blessed with four grandchildren: Todd Daniel Hewitt and his wife Michelle of Atlanta, GA; Charlotte Cook Clayton and her husband Mikeal of Oklahoma City, OK; Rebecca Sue Palmisano and husband David of Harker Heights, TX; and Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay of Pacific Palisades, CA.
She was further blessed with four great grandchildren: Isabella Marie Palmisano and Vincent Joseph Palmisano, Campbell Piper Hewitt, and Autumn James Hallisay.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay respects at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood Street, Killeen, TX (254) 634-2638 on Monday, March 10th, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Services will be held Tuesday, March 11th, at 11:00 am at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, with burial following in the Killeen City Cemetery.
