

Services for Chester Eugene Mansker will be 9:30am Thursday August 17, 2017 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
Chester Eugene Mansker, age 75, was born on September 24, 1941 in Memphis TN passed away August 13, 2017 in Temple, Texas.
Chester E. Mansker was a retired Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army and served30 plus years in various roles throughout his honorable career as a devoted Artilleryman. CSM (R) Mansker is a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served 5 tours during the Vietnam conflict; earning himself various commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and Valor “V” device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Star for his service in combat. CSM (R) Mansker served most of his 34 year career abroad in Hawaii, South Korea, Vietnam, Germany, and retiring at Fort Hood, Texas. He truly enjoyed serving in the United States Army and serving his country. Post retirement from the United Army, CSM (R) Mansker was employed at Acer for over 10 years.
CSM (R) Mansker is survived by his wife Onnelly Mansker and his four children from eldest to youngest; Jennie Ochoa (husband) Richard, Freddy Rodriguez, Michael Mansker and Sarah Mansker. CSM (R) Mansker’s surviving siblings are; Mary Wall, Tuty (Eunice) Collins, Ross Mansker, and Dolly (Katherine) Brown. He had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was loved by all. He enjoyed sports of any kind, the outdoors, and travel.
He was preceded in death by his father Chester D. Mansker and mother Mary Welch.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home.
