

He attended Elementary and Jr. High School in Gatesville, Texas and graduated from Waco Technical High School in Waco, Texas. He later received a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University.
Mr. Black, honorably served in the U. S. Army and then worked as an insurance adjuster in Killeen for over forty years. He enjoyed bowling in his early life, then after moving to the country he enjoyed gardening and working with his goats. In his later years he enjoyed talking with family and friends of the days of old, and writing memoirs.
He married Maudie Mae Goulette, August 15, 1985 in Nevada, who preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Welton Joe Black.
He is survived by his brother, Billy Black and his wife Delores of Waco, Texas; Zake, Josh and Merrisa DeParma, who were like his grandchildren.
