Deborah Kay East

September 30, 1959 – August 11, 2026

Deborah Kay East, beloved mother, sister, friend, and woman of faith, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026 in Menard, Texas. She was born September 30, 1959, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Weldon Eugene Moore and Joyce Marie Moore. Deborah was the youngest of their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Margaret Caristo and Sharon lewelling. She is survived by her siblings, Loretta Webber and Robert Moore; her children, Christy Denise White, Shawn Lee White, and Sherri Marie Schepers; her son-in-law John Parr, husband of Christy; her daughter-in-law Kariann Iskra, wife of Shawn; her beloved sister and best friend Tammie High; lifelong best friend Diana; and numerous extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

Deborah graduated from Killeen High School, where she was a proud member of the band. She later continued her education and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Programming. Deborah dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to Sallie Mae, where she ultimately became a Manager. She took great pride in her career and was known for her dedication, hard work, leadership, and care for those around her.

After retiring in Killeen, Deborah enjoyed traveling and making memories with her beloved sister and best friend, Tammie. She treasured the adventures, laughter, and time they shared together.

Deborah's faith was one of the most important parts of her life. Though she was born Lutheran, she later accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and dedicated her heart and soul to Him, choosing the Baptist faith. She was a cherished member of Cowboy Church, where she loved the people and fellowship dearly. Deborah had a special love for people and believed in seeing the heart of Jesus in those around her.

Her greatest legacy was not only the life she built, but the love she gave. Deborah welcomed many of her children's friends into her heart and loved and cherished them as her own. To her, family was defined not only by blood, but by love, loyalty, and the bonds created through a lifetime of memories.

Deborah will be remembered for her loving heart, strength, humor, dedication, faith, love of travel and music, and the many lives she touched along the way. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now home with the Lord she loved.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
