Services for (Ret) Major Diana M. Siefert will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full Military Honors. Diana died Thursday, December 1, 2016 she was 77 yrs. old.
She was born January 18, 1939 in Doss, Texas to Charlie John and Emma A (Kirchner) Siefert. She attended St Mary’s University of Galveston and studied nursing. Diana joined the US Army in March of 1965. She served as a medical-surgical nurse which included tours of duty in Germany and Vietnam. Among medals and awards received were the National Defense Service Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Service Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors included a brother, John George Siefert of Del Rio; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
