A “Facebook” memory popped up on my timeline from 11 years ago, it was me sharing my condolences to the Redlin family. Coach Redlin was an important piece to our football team during my 7th grade year. One day at practice; it must’ve been 50° degrees. Members of the team , myself included complained about how cold it was. Coach Redlin took of his sweatshirt and screamed at is, deal with it,  so what. In that moment I was bothered and somewhat mad. But looking back on it,   he enforced true grit in us. That’s what we needed. RIP Coach Redlin.

I met Doug when he transferred into my class in the middle of fifth grade.  I remember his smile, his sense of humor and his fondness for oldies music.  He was the first boy I ever loved, and he will always have a special place in my heart.  It still grieves me to know that a peer I cared for can no longer share the same existence,   but I will always honor his memory.  Rest in peace, pancake boy.  You are not forgotten.

You have been in my thoughts and prayers since May 12th. That day changed your lives. Douglas will be missed by all who knew him. I know you will treasure his memories in your heart.  Be reasured that you have family, friends, and faith to help comfort you.

I couldn't believe it when I found out Doug had passed. I remember him back in high school. He always knew how to ease any situation and lighten the mood. Many people shared plenty of laughs and alot of good times with him. He will truly be missed and I hope that with time his family can find a means of peace.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of Coach Doug Redlin.  I was privileged to work with Coach Redlin at Rancier Middle School.  As I walk into the teacher's lounge, I still hear his laugh radiating through the room.  Despite the numerous challenges he faced as a first year teacher at RMS, he would find some humor in it and he had the ability to change any stressful situation into a light jubilant moment.  Thank you for sharing Coach Redlin with us. He was a wonderful young man and will be greatly missed.  I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I would like to express my condolences to the entire Redlin family to include his fiance. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by such a sudden and unexpected loss.  I had the pleasure of meeting coach Redlin during the 2012 football season at Rancier where he was such an instrument and a gentle spirit that truly had a strong desire and passion to help the children learn and develop at Rancier Middle School. I will always remember the smile he had when the boys made it to the finals, and although they did not win the championship he gave them hope to hold their heads high and be proud of themselves for the achievements. He will truly be missed. I pray for strength and comfort to the family, friends, students, & faculty. RIP Coach Redlin

Hey Guys, Doug was the first friend I had. I am praying for ya'll so much. Even when he was really little he was always very kind. I wish we could have caught up more. God's peace be upon you.

Toughts and prayers go out to your family, Coach Redlin will truly be missed.

Doug was to be my teaching partner in U.S. History next year. I was really looking forward to working with him, he held such a wealth of knowledge. He was one of the brightest young men I have ever met and one of Rancier's most dedicated teachers. I loved his witty facetiousness and his students loved him. They have been telling me stories all week of how he touched their lives.
He has left a void in our school that will be impossible to fill.
He will be missed.

Mardi, Scott, Kate, and Maritza, I was devastated to learn of Doug's passing. The kids were so young when you left Washington, but I remember them well from church. You have our deepest condolences and you will all remain in our prayers. May God keep you all in his tender care during such a difficult time.

Coach Redlin's presence at Rancier Middle School will be terribly missed. He was a bright and positive presence in the lives of our students. As a colleague, you could always count on his support for improving the academic achievement and behavior of his athletes. He achieved a balance of discipline and motivation for them, and as they look back on how Coach Redlin impacted their lives, they will know that they are better individuals for having known him. I pray that his family and loved ones will come eventually to find a sense of peace and understanding to ease the pain of this terrible loss.

Mr. Redlin was my daughter Brianna Garibay's history teacher at Rancier Middle School.  Just wanted to shared with your family that there was not one day she would not come home and talked about Mr. Redlin.  Always Mr. Redlin this and Mr. Redlin that.  He truly touched and inspired the lives of many students including my daughters.  I know she will always remembered him for everything he did for her, he touched her life.  He was a kind and caring man.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.  We will miss him very much.
