Douglas had the kindest heart I know. He was extremely patient, giving, and he put everyone else's needs before his own. He was exceptionally loving towards animals and immensely passionate about the things that mattered to him. Though I only knew him a short while, Douglas by far, had the most brilliant mind I have ever known and I always appreciated his wisdom. He consistently took the time to explain things to me and he became a good friend. I do miss you, Douglas. May you rest in peace. 

Doug, you were so kind, caring and intelligent. Uncle Dean always said you were the smartest kid he had ever met. You will forever be in our hearts, you are a truly unforgettable person. We love and miss you. Love, The Heitt Family- Arlene, Dean, Jason and Jessica. 

I always admired Douglas memory and intelligence.   We never agreed on certain subjects, but respect was always something we shared for each other.  Also, we always complimented each other as well. He was very caring toward my needs at the end of our hard working day together.  He really was a great animal lover and technician!
I pray to God that He will receive him in his Glory.  Amen.

My Dearest Denise, Stan, Stan and Rachel,

My heart goes out to you and the family. I will always remember you as Douglas’s Mom. He was always wanting me to see the Green thing (iguana you owned or still own). He laughed to see me scared. He was so smart with a beautiful heart and I know you will all miss him. Please know that God has him in His arms and he is resting in peace waiting for our turn.

Douglas was by far the most patient person I’ve ever worked with. We worked together as veterinary technicians and it isn’t an easy field. Doug always would be there if I had questions, he was so full knowledge, and he helped me so much when I was at my breaking point. I miss hearing his laugh when we would swap stories of animals or even have awesome conversations. I only wish I could express my heart felt feelings to Doug as he truly will be missed. He was beyond genuine and was always so kind to everyone he met.  I pray you’re at peace Douglas and know you are greatly missed. Until we meet again my dear friend.

Doug was Awesome! He was Smart, and Kind and so amazing with Animals.  He was a True friend.  He was friendly and  supportive.  He came to my parties at my old apartment even though he was shy.  He has an amazing smile.  He taught me so much. He was such a cat guy, I remember I set him up to have a "random cat fact" sent to his phone everyday for a month. He was so perplexed on why he kept getting these facts sent every morning.   I remember he would have random bits of info like one morning we were prepping an animal for something and  he said "did you know M&Ms were first made for soldiers so they could have something in their pocket that wouldnt melt?"  I've never not eaten an m&m and not thought of him.  I miss you so much! I hope you know how much we loved and cared about you.
