He was born on August 11, 1931 in Somerville, Massachusetts. Mr. Carlin proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired in 1968. He later worked for the TX Dept of Corrections and then volunteered with the Texas State Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother, a brother-in-law, a nephew and a niece.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Magdalene (Maggie) Carlin; his children, Marian Garrett and Marcia Phillips (Larry); his four grandchildren; his two great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Langston; his nephew, Faron Langston (Pam); and numerous other family and friends.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
