Edward “Ed” Kime proudly served his country for 27 years as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the United States Army, where he distinguished himself as both a Military Police Officer and Army Aviator. Following his military retirement, Ed continued his commitment to public service with the Harker Heights Police Department, where he was recognized as Rookie of the Year. He earned several medals through the Police Olympics.
No matter what uniform he wore or what title he held, Ed was known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to serving others. He approached every role with kindness, compassion, and a strong sense of duty. Throughout his military and law enforcement careers, he formed countless friendships built on trust, respect, and genuine care for others—many of which lasted a lifetime.
Ed was a proud husband and father of two sons and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends. He was a man of exceptional character who always sought to do the right thing. Dependable, trustworthy, and generous, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Known for his warm smile, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor, Ed loved sharing stories, laughter, and a cold beer with those around him—perhaps almost as much as he loved making people laugh. His legacy is not only reflected in his years of dedicated service, but also in the countless lives he touched through his friendship, compassion, and unwavering devotion to others.
