Elisabeth "Lis" Jones

January 19, 1935 - May 16, 2014

Graveside services for Elisabeth "Lis" Jones 79, of Killeen will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 am at Killeen Memorial Park.

Lis passed away on May 16, 2014 at a local hospital due to a long term illness.

Lis who was also known to many as "Oma" was born in Nurnberg, Germany on January 19, 1935 to Otto and Dorothea Herdegen.

On December 11, 1975 she married Glyn F. Jones in Bell County, where they both resided until their passing.

Lis was very active in the community with her volunteer work that she loved so much with the Veterans at the VA Hospital.

She was a life member to VFW 3892 Auxiliary in Harker Heights, TX and also a member of Military Order of the Cooties PupTent 13 Auxiliary in Copperas Cove, TX.

Survivors included her daughter Hannelore Owen, granddaughter; Christy Duncan, and three great grandchildren, Steven Shirley, Sabrena Crouch-Duncan and Andrew Duncan all of Killeen, TX.

Lis "Oma" was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, and the love o her life, her husband Glyn Jones.

The family will receive visitors from 5 pm -8pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Mom-Oma you will be truly missed and we all loved you dearly. You will never be forgotten.
