Elizabeth Ann Johnson(affectionately known as Ms. Betty) was born on February 4, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA. She was the oldest of three siblings. She was raised by her grandmother whom she loved dearly and accredited the lessons of love and hard work she would carry throughout her entire life.
In her mid-twenties she would meet and eventually marry Douglas Leroy Law on September 30, 1961. In that union three girls would come, Cheryl, Shirley, and Kim.
Betty first learned the truth in El Paso, TX. But it wasn't until she got to Fort Hood, TX that she would make the truth own and dedicate her life to Jehovah on May 9, 1976. She has faithfully and loyally served Jehovah until her death on March 18, 2026.
Ms. Betty was a woman of many talents. Whether she was nourishing others as a hospital cook, helping them to look their best as a beautician or keeping children safe as a crossing guard, she did it all with a generous heart. Those who knew her well always remember her straightforward nature, infectious kindness and her love for rearranging furniture, and finding hidden treasures at garage sales.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Shelvin(Kevin) and Kim Thomas; grandchildren, Anquan Law(Angela), Chquita Brown, Ferron Brown(Jaquline), Quinton Brown, Tovon Kent, LaTecia White(James), Arriciana Thomas; sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death be her parents, Howard and Martha Johnson; sister, Marion Lowery; brother, Billy Johnson; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Law.
Ms. Betty's love permeated everything she did. She was generous to a fault and loved by many. We will miss her laughter, her honesty, and warm hugs. But mostly her unwavering faith in Jehovah, that guided her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2204 Sunny Lane, Killeen, TX 76541, on May 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
