
Elizabeth was born December 30, 1935 in Bluffton, South Carolina to Moses and Florence Williams. She attended Jenkins High School and later went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Savannah State University. She began her teaching career at Chatham County School Board as a Physical Education instructor and Social Studies teacher.
Elizabeth married Ralph Washington in April 1963. Together they had one son, LaMont Washington.
Elizabeth was a proud member of the Chatham Ref's Association and had a passion for sports refereeing. She will always be remembered for teaching soccer, basketball and line dancing.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph Washington, and husband, Johnny McBride, six brothers, and three sisters, Dorothy, Virgie Mae, Gwen, Moses Jr., Winston, King Michael, Westley, Jackie and Randy.
Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter in law, LaMont R. and Freda Washington, sisters, Suzanne Palmer, Mary Carter, Betty Williams and a brother, Sam, her beloved grandchildren, Camesha Jones, LaMont R. Washington II, Camry Jones, LaMonica R. Washington and LaMontae R. Washington, great grandchildren, LaMiyah Washington, LaMont Jayvier Washington and LaMaj Washington and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, Texas 76542, on July 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
