Elmer Bernard Summers

Elmer Bernard Summers, 84, of Killeen, Texas passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at home in Killeen, TX. Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen. He was born on June 13, 1932 in Knoxville, TN to Elery and Emma Summers. Elmer married Barbara Stodghill on August 13, 1955 and were blessed with two children, Paul R. Summers and Dee Anne Fischer. He joined the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1955. Elmer received a Masters Degree in Science from Texas Christian University in 1960. He was employed as a school teacher with Killeen ISD from 1960 to 1992. He taught at both Killeen and Ellison High schools. Elmer is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Summers and parents and one brother, Paul H. Summers. He is survived by his son, Paul R. Summers, daughter, Dee Anne Fischer and husband Robby Fischer, one brother, Elery E. Summers, one sister Wanda Aycock and grandchildren Tyler Summers and Ross Fischer.
