Fusako Shimizume Weltch, 84, a long-time resident of Killeen, TX passed away December 11, 2016 after a short illness. She was born August 24, 1932 in Aomori, Japan. She lived primarily in northern and central Japan before moving to the United States in 1957. Throughout her life, Fusako had a passion for crocheting, embroidery, sewing, and quilting. From her talents she made many life-long heirlooms for friends and family. She was an avid gardener and had a passion for raising daylilies. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Earl Weltch of Killeen, TX, son, James A and wife Annette Hicks of Austin, TX daughter, Barbara Anne and husband Scott Winger of Killeen, TX, granddaughters Amanda and husband Dario Moreno of Frisco, TX and Kirstie and husband Cole Kabella of College Station, TX. She was preceded in death by parents Sanojo and Sada Shimizume. No services are planned at this time.
