Gale Theresa Jones "Mama Jones"

Gale Theresa Jones, age 59 went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was born April 4, 1959 in Johns Island, South Carolina, daughter of Theodore & Elnora Ackerman Parker. Gale served in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of service, after her military career, Gale pursued further education and earned the Degree of Master of Education, Gale became a Teacher, Campus Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal for Iduma Elementary during her career with Killeen Independent School District.

“Mama Jones” as she was affectionately called, loved her family, always ensured everyone else was taken care of before herself and saw the good in everyone through the flaws. She enjoyed family game and movie night, puzzles of all kind, weekend road trips with family and friends, Zumba and dance, cooking with or for family, and being an educator of students, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elnora Ackerman Parker and Theodore Parker Sr. and brothers Wesley Parker and Theodore Parker Jr.

Gale leaves loving memories to her husband of 37 years Frederick Jones Jr., children; Frederick Jones III (Samantha) and Justin Jones (Jayme), siblings Leona Edge (Harris), Betty Parker Hamilton (J), Osborn Parker (Ella), Rebecca Waring (Teddy, deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral will be at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen, burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors.
