Gary Lee Teats

Services for Gary L. Teats (Buzz), 60, of Harker Heights will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home chapel in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Gary L. Teats (Buzz) died July 5, 2012 at his home in Harker Heights. He was born March 6, 1952 in Renovo, PA to AI Bointon and Viola Teats.

He married his bride Diane Teats, of 42 years, on October 24, 1969. Together they had three children; Wendy S. Johnson, 42, of Harker Heights, TX. , Heather L.A. Pohl, 39, of Belton, TX, and Joey Teats, 33, of Cedar Park, TX.

Gary joined the United States Army in February of 1971. He received bronze star, meritorious service medal, army commendation medal, army achievement medal, good conduct medal, and other various service awards. He served his country for 22 years and retired in 1992 as a Sergeant Major. He then worked for KISD and Goode Towing in Killeen for a period of time. He then became a supervisor for the City of Killen and retired from the city in May of 2012.

He is preceded in death by his parents AI Bointon Teats and Viola Teats, and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Diane. Three children: Wendy, Heather, and Joey. Three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers and three sisters as well as several aunts and uncles.

The family will recieve friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6-8pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

To the Teats Family,
It sadden my heart to write these few lines. But I fell your pains of losing a love one, a friend, a work mate. Gary will truly be miss. As a member of the Solid Waste Dept. His absent has already made an impact of not being with us each morning in the hall ways of SW as we might be talking about what's taken place in the sport world. As a co-worker and friend may your pains grow lite over the years to come. May your memories of Gary continue to grow stronger as they will. We look forward too seeing him again when the time come.
