

George A. Espinola, age 81, passed away in a nursing home in Belton. A visitation is set for Sunday, May 13, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. Services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Monday, May 14 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Espinola was born July 11, 1930 in Brackettville, Texas to James and Josephine Espinola. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1973, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. His last assignment was with the 62nd Engineer Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas. After 22 years in the Army, he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (2). After retirement from the Army he worked for Civil Service for 19 years as an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration repairman. He also managed a small ranch in Uvalde County from 1973 to 2000 raising angora goats. The ranch was owned by his wife.
Mr. Espinola is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 56 years, Peggy, who passed away in 2010, as well as three brothers, Jack Espinola of Brackettville, Francis Espinola of Killeen, and James Espinola of Arizona.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Lynn Stewart (husband Charles), two granddaughters, Anne Stewart and Cynthia Byars (husband Brian) of Killeen, and a sister Willie Mae Huckobey of Graham Texas.
