

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, George Mills, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 82. He was born on October 3, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. George served 22 years in the US Army, retiring in 1980. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal WII Silver Service Star, Purple Heart WII Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Good Conduct Medal Clasp with Five Loops Meritorious Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Expert Rifle Badge. George was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion #0223, VFW #9192, TREA, AARP, life member of Handy Man Club of America, member of Bob Gilmore SCC, and is a devout member of Trinity Baptist Church in Harker Heights. George’s passions were his love of God, family, and country. George was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Myrtle Ann Mills, who passed away in 2000, and sons Johnny and Randy Mills. He is survived by wife Pat Mills of 14 years, daughter Tammy Sweeney, sons Troy and Richard Mills, and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church in Harker Heights at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, his family is graciously accepting donations to the church in George’s honor.
Interment will be @ Killeen Memorial Park
