

Killeen – Funeral services for George D. Williams, 84, of Killeen, will be 2 pm Wednesday at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Killeen. Rev. David Leach will officiate. Burial will follow in the Killeen City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen.
Mr. Williams passed away Sunday morning at a Temple hospital.
George Daniel was born December 4, 1925 in Rosebud, Texas to William Oliver and Ollie Annie (Shofner) Williams. He was a huge supporter of the Killeen Kangaroos and has attended every game since 1954. George attended the Texas A&M University and has attended every home game since his retirement. On August 6, 1950 he married Jewel D. Jochets at the First Methodist Church of Killeen. He served in the US Navy during WWII. After his retirement with Civil Service, he was an invaluable employee for Modern TV and Appliance.
He was a member for over 51 years with the Killeen Masonic Lodge # 1125; very active with the Shriners Scottish Rite, especially the Racers in parades; was a founding member of the Killeen Handicap Parking Enforcement; graduated with the 3rd Class of the Killeen Citizens Police Academy Alumni; and member of the Killeen Citizens on Patrol and the Killeen Crime Stoppers.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, James Oliver Williams in 1944 and Roy A. Williams in 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel J. Williams of Killeen; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry Diane and Tim Wall of Tyler; a granddaughter, Stacy Wall of Dallas; a grandson, Ronald T. Wall, III and his wife, Jennifer of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Lydia Bell Cone of Temple; one brother, Joe Bill Williams and his wife, Stella of Snowflake, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
