

Born on December 3, 1939, in Katowice, Poland, Gisela was the daughter of the late Heinrich Reiss and Elfriede Reiss. She was the wife of the late Richard S. Gomer, with whom she shared a beautiful life and partnership. Together, they built a successful residential real estate rental business.
Gisela found immense joy in the simple and beautiful things. She was an avid gardener, a passionate bird watcher, and an adventurous spirit who loved traveling the world and trying her luck at the casinos she visited.
Gisela is survived by her three children, Vivian Johns (Richard) of Little River-Academy, Victoria Lewis (Robert) of Harker Heights, and Jerome Gomer (Rachel) of Harker Heights. Grandchildren Krystyna Wesp, Heather Jacobs, Sarah Jacobs, Megan Martin, Rachel York, Lauren Simpson, Brittney Constans, Brooke Quinn, Justin Gomer, and Joshua Gomer. A sister, Ingrid Heim, of Hanau, Germany. Also,18 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews located across the United States and Germany.
She also leaves behind her dear friend, Irene Levinson. They shared a love of travel and their Polish heritage. The family also extends their appreciation for her companionship and support during their mother’s stay at Rosewood Assisted Living Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Gerard; her parents, Heinrich and Elfriede Reiss; her companion of 7 years, Jesse Trevino.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rosewood Assisted Living Center and Baylor Scott & White Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. Their dedication, kindness, and gentle support provided immense comfort to Gisela and her family during her final days.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
