Herman Bell, of Killeen, reached the end of his earthly journey on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was born on February 18, 1931, to the late Archie Bell and Lillie Whitis Bell, in the rural Killeen area. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Phillip Michael Bell; two sisters Lena Hoover and Ruth Carson, and a brother Clifford Bell.

Herman is survived by his wife of 66 years, Felecia Mallory Bell; daughter Deborah Bell Munger and her husband, Mark Munger; son David Bell and his wife Sheila Robinson Bell, sister, Doris Bell Shields; five grandchildren, Teryn Munger Lopez, Alexander Munger, Mallory Munger, Carson Bell, Cade Bell; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Lopez.

Herman worked for Mutual Lumber Company, Central Forwarding and Cameron Lumber Company, all of Killeen. He also worked as a civil service employee at Fort Hood until he retired. Working in the garden was Herman’s passion. He grew enough vegetables to feed all his family and friends and still had enough to donate to others. Wherever there was a patch of ground, all he needed were some garden tools and seeds. He could make anything grow!

He also liked to keep a small herd of cattle to tend to. He loved riding the pasture trails looking for strays and making sure all his herd was taken care of. Herman never missed a chance to get together with his family. He played dominoes, told stories and played practical jokes on others. He had a blast!
