Howard graduated at the top of his class from Point Pleasant High School in 1954, where he also played football and was President of the National Honor Society. Howard Fisher honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Command Sergeant Major/E-9. He enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting and wood working in his spare time.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Fisher; sons, Douglas and David Fisher; his daughter-in-law, Laura; grandchildren, Sandra L. Todd and Devin LeAnn Fisher; as well as three great-grandchildren, Wesley, Olivia and Ezekiel. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
Graveside services for Howard Leroy Fisher, 80, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
