Memorial services for Irene “Nadia” Collyer, 82, of Killeen will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, Jan 3, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Inurnment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. She was born March 1, 1931 in Herstal, Belgium to Emile and Josephine Libert Rockx. She passed away on December 21, 2013 in Killeen.
She grew up in Belgium and France and received her education there. She met and married Douglas Collyer on April 26, 1966 in LeChesney (Paris) France. She was a homemaker and loving wife to her husband. Her hobbies included piano, sewing, cooking and painting. Her love of animals led her to train puppies and she was a member of the local Kennel Club. She was a member of Red Cross “candy stripers” and officer’s wives club.
Survivors include her husband Douglas and two God daughters Cynthia Haskell Bain and Gabrielle Pearl.
