Graveside services for James Grady Nelson will be 3pm Monday December 10, 2012 at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery. He was born April 28, 1929 in Gainesville, TX and passed away December 6, 2012 in Killeen.
James attended Newman High School in Sweet Water TX and received a BS in Business from Oklahoma City University. He was in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He owned and operated Nelson Auto Supply in Sherman, TX retiring in 1995.
James loved life and his family. He was proud to have the opportunity to serve his country and proud to be a TEXAN. He was a golden glove boxer, an avid golfer, and sportsman. James lived life to the fullest and he will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Nelson, mother, Gladys Pryor, and sister, Betty Stamper of San Antonio.
James is survived by sons; Randy Nelson of Killeen, David Nelson of De Soto, TX and Ross Nelson of Wylie TX, grandson; Richard Ian Nelson of De Soto, TX., and their families.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2:40 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
