James Alan Tucker, 58, of Leander, TX, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Austin, TX, after a courageous hard-fought battle against cancer for almost a year. He attended Harker Heights Elementary School, Harker Heights, TX; Smith Middle School, Fort Hood, TX, and C.E. James is survived by his beloved wife, Heather Tucker, of Elgin, TX; sisters: Pamela (Tucker) Miller (David) of Round Rock, TX; Lori (Tucker) Faucett (George) of Leander, TX; daughters: Krystal Bonillas and one grandson, of Austin, TX; Stephanie Hong (Chris) and granddaughter (Emerald), of Panama City, FL; son, James Alan Tucker, II, of Freeport, TX; nephew, Hunter Faucett, of Leander, TX; nieces: Michelle Wallace (Cooper) and great nieces (Winter & Ember), of Round Rock, TX; Alanna Anderson (Jeff) and great nephew (Dean), of Fort Worth, TX; uncle, Robert Kenneth Tucker (aunt Joyce), of Sun City West, AZ; aunts: Lilia Beane, of Franklinville, NC; Laura Tucker, of Aurora, CO; and numerous cousins and extended family members.
James loved God, his family, and his dog, Pearl, who provided much comfort to him. James was thankful that he was able to exercise his right to vote in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. James shared stories about how he walked and rode his bicycle all over when he was young. He spent a lot of time fishing at Stillhouse Hollow Lake Marina.
Sisters Pam and Lori took care of James as a baby; “played school” with him as a young boy, taught him how to count, using kidney beans, and how to write, which he had beautiful handwriting. James was in scouts; played baseball for First Baptist Church of Harker Heights, and as a teenager, was a seemingly limber expert at roller skating, where he also worked at Skateland in Harker Heights; and he was a Percussion member of the Band (drums/xylophone/marimba, etc.) at Harker Heights Elementary School, Smith Middle School, and C.E. Ellison High School.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Austin Regional Clinic, Cedar Park, TX; Baylor Scott & White Health, Round Rock & Temple, TX; and Beacon Hospice House, Austin, TX, for providing care for James.
