James graduated from Killeen High School and grew up working in several of the family businesses. One being Tex's Hock Shop, where he learned the skills that would shape the rest of his life. He had a natural gift for business and entrepreneurship going on to build several of his own, always chasing the next idea.
James was married to Ruby Duplessis, with whom he had two children, Mickey White and Vickie Trosclair. He later married Toni Jeanne Adams and had a daughter, Monnica Jeanne Martin.
James loved good cigars while playing his favorite slots at the casino, and he was always up for a night of partying, drinking a cold Schlitz and storytelling with friends and family. But more than anything, he loved helping people when they needed it, never one to turn away someone who needed a hand.
He will be remembered for his joy, his wisdom, and his generosity, also for the stories he left behind that his family will keep telling for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his father Gus White, his stepfather Tex Langford, Doris Langford, Charles Langford, Kenneth Langford, Mickey White, Ruby and Toni Jeanne Adams.
James is survived by Monnica Jeanne Martin and Vickie Trosclair, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 am Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Killeen City Cemetery.
