Jane was born January 19, 1929 in Lemmon, South Dakota to Clifford Fields and Bertha Nelson. She attended public school in South Dakota and upon graduation worked as a waitress and secretary. She moved to Pierre, South Dakota and married Clarence Rilling in May 1952. She worked for the State of South Dakota in the Department of Health from 1966 until her retirement in 1986. In 1989 she moved to Texas to escape the cold of the north to be in the warm south which well suited her sunshine disposition and friendly personality. Jane loved to work in the yard nurturing her flowers and plants, shopping at SAMs Club, playing cards, WAHOO, and most of all loving and caring for her family. Her smile was infectious and her zeal for life was a source of energy to all that knew and loved her.
