Jefferson (Jeff) Edward Pace II, 78, of Harker Heights, Texas was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on Monday, August 21, 2023. Jeff was born on March 5, 1945 at St Paul’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Jefferson and Willie Florence Pace. He grew up in Dallas County and spent most of his time there until he joined the U.S. Army in 1963. While serving our country, Jeff met the love of his life, Chong in Seoul Korea where they later married on August 21, 1978. During his career in the U.S. Army Jeff was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Ten Overseas Service Bars, Three Service Stripes, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon and the Rifle M-16 Sharpshooter Badge. After his service, Jeff worked primarily in the construction and plumbing industry where he retired from Fort Hood Family Housing, receiving numerous service awards for his help and commitment to providing our current soldiers and their families a well maintained home.
Jeff was a lifetime member at the VFW Post #3892 where he served in several positions such as Post Surgeon General and Quartermaster. His friends at the VFW were an extension of his family and he could be counted on to volunteer with all of their needs. A quiet man, Jeff was fiercely competitive, anyone of his shuffleboard teammates could tell you how he would get down to business resulting in numerous league caption appointments and tournament trophies.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Jefferson Edward Pace; mother, Willie Florence Smith and sister, Elaine Barrett.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Chong; his two son’s Roger and wife DaHyun and Jeffery and wife Krista; three grandchildren Alexander, Kaden, and Aubrey.
