

Mr. Peacock was born in Navarro County, Texas to Maudellon and James Peacock. He was raised in Ennis, Texas along with his brother Jimmy and graduated from Ennis High School, Class of '56 where he played football for the Lions. He then attended Lamar State College of Technology receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Art in 1960. In 1961 he married Linda Parrish with whom he had a daughter Laurie. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard and US Coast Guard Reserve for several years reaching the rank of Lieutenant.
Jerry was an artist and spent years providing illustrations and logos for various publications and companies, and enjoyed creating cartoons. In the 1980s he worked for the Williamson County Sun in Georgetown, Texas where he contributed political cartoons and illustrated the Silent Partner cartoon featuring weekly sign language words. He most enjoyed painting pictures of many things, especially old Texas farmhouses and whimsical abstracts.
In 1994, he married the love of his life, Tommie Mae Jordan, spending many years together enjoying family, traveling and watching the Dallas Cowboys games together of which they were both big fans. Jerry and Tommie were both raised in the church and loved going to church and enjoying fellowship. Jerry also loved to sing and was always welcomed to his church choirs with his strong baritone voice.
Jerry was much loved and was a very sweet man. He was an avid reader, football fan and master punster. He could never resist the opportunity to make a funny pun.
Mr. Peacock is survived by his daughter Laurie Luster (Dennis), stepdaughter Tamara Palumbo, granddaughters Dylan Palumbo, Katie Luster and Maddie Luster; sister-in-law Sandra Peacock, sister-in-law Johnnie Sue Ray (Alan), brother-in-law James Jordan (Susan), several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. Peacock and Maudellon Peacock Minor, step-father Maxie Minor, brother Colonel James L. Peacock and his loving wife Tommie Mae Peacock.
