Jimmy Raye Terrell

He was born January 17, 1948 in Shreveport, LA to Bernice Terrell. He attended school and graduated in Shreveport. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army in 1968 as an infantryman. His duty stations included Vietnam (purple heart), Korea, Germany, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Hood, Texas where he retired in September 1989 after 23 years of service.Jimmy worked at TEXCOM and Killeen ISD. He retired in 2009 and enjoyed deep sea fishing in Florida and Louisiana, his jazz music and traveling. He was happiest at all family gatherings.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice, brothers Wesly Terrell and Charles Terrell, grandfather Tennessee Terrell, grandmother Ethel Terrell, all of Shreveport.

He is survived by his spouse, Lora, daughters Candace Wallace and Adrea Smith Evans (Lance) of Los Vegas, Nevada, sons Jimmy Terrell Jr, Kent Robinson and Mark Smith of Louisville, Kentucky, sisters Evelyn Carthen Harvey (Reagan) and Bonita Carthen of Shreveport, twelve grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, TX 76542, on August 20, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542 at 1:00 pm.
