

Mr. Joe O. Garcia, 87, passed away July 19, in a Temple hospital. Visitation for Mr. Garcia is scheduled for Sunday, July 24, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the rosary at 7:00 pm. Services for Mr. Garcia are scheduled for Monday, July 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mr. Garcia was born November 13, 1923 in Brackettville, Texas to Jorge O. and Tules H. Garcia. Before moving his family to Killeen, Mr. Garcia participated in four movies, with John Wayne, "The Alamo" in 1960, "Arrowhead" in 1953 with Charlton Heston and Jack Palance, "Last Command" in 1955, with Sterling Hayden and "Two Road Together" in 1960 with Jimmy Stewart. Mr. Garcia was a resident of Killeen for 48 years and worked in the maintenance department for Killeen Independent School District.
Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Guadalupe, his son Joe Garcia, Jr. a granddaughter, Lisa Rose Rodriguez, and a great-granddaughter, Destiny House.
He is survived by two sons Rogelio Garcia and Armando Garcia five daughters, Ms. Norma Scanlon, Mrs. Dora Rider, Mrs. Elvidia Cordova, Mrs. Anna Gonzales, and Mrs. Cathy Martinez numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
