He is predeceased by his son Leslie B. Vaughn.
Joe is survived by his beloved son Gary O. Vaughn and adoring daughters Rose M. Brown and Elizabeth Vaughn. He is also
survived by his only remaining sibling Harold Vaughn.
Joe leaves Grandsons Anthony Lamont Vaughn and Xavier Hancock and Granddaughters, Nicole Vaughn, Hiroko Brown and Rihuana Brown.
He was blessed with 9 great grandchildren, Trenton Brown, Midori Bartney, Imari Randle, Voisier Bartney, Michael Davis, Kolbe Davis, Jayden Esposito, Raanan Sandoval and newborn baby Jiva Ronin Vaughn.
His childhood years were spent in Houston, Texas where he joined the US Army.
Joe vigilantly served his country as a SFC in the Army for 26 years and also served as a MEDIC in both the Korean and Vietnam War.
He settled in Killeen where he worked as a Civil Service agent at Darnell Hospital for another 14 years.
Joe adored his family and making people laugh. He always made time for his second greatest love which was raising his homing pigeons. He always said they gave him a reason to get up in the morning.
Dad was always easy to talk to because he never judged anyone. When you were sad or down, he would make you laugh and forget all your sorrows for just little while.
Joe Nathan Vaughn was a man of high standards and good morals . . . a man of honor… who loved and provided for his family.
He will be greatly missed.
