My riding buddy and very good friend.  John D was the most sincere individual I have known.  He always had kind words for everyone.  John would do anything for anyone.  I am so privileged to have known John D!

My 1st Sgt in Vietnam.. Co E, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division: the best boss I ever had but much, much, more he was my friend and mentor; he made that year very livable for me a kid from the south side of Chicago; God made a real honest , thoughtful man when he created Top; he touched so many of us & always with dignity regardless of rank; I will never forget his kindness to me.. he was & is a symbol what God wants all of us to be... honest, decent to our fellow man and proud to be a American, God bless you always Top

One of the greatest men alive! He will always be in my heart for his unconditional love and support to my family. I'm still saddened by his loss but I do know we will see him again! He's the greatest grandpa ever! I'm very thankful he got to know my 3 kids, Ava Kale and Wyatt. They love him so much. This is not goodbye Grandpa John D but it's see ya later until we meet again.
