

Born on October 5, 1946, in Tampa, Florida, Johnnie was the son of Jack Richardson and Jennie Ragen.
Johnnie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a career as a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, where he earned the respect and friendship of many colleagues throughout the years. He was also a proud member of the Sheet Metal Retirees Club.
One of Johnnie’s greatest passions was genealogy and ancestry research. He spent countless hours preserving family histories and helping others discover their roots. Through his dedication, he managed more than 13,000 memorials on Find a Grave, helping families preserve the stories and memories of loved ones for future generations.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Richardson; his father, Jack Richardson; and other loved ones who welcomed him home.
He is survived by his mother, Jennie Ragen; his children, Mark Richardson (Trish), Amy Andres (Mark), and Tracy Goff (Jason); his grandchildren, Ashley Childs (Cory), Raven George, Marissa Richardson, Audie Andres, Dallas Richardson, Cole McLean (Rebecca), and Brandon Goff (Kiley); several great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Johnnie will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, his passion for preserving history, and his wonderful sense of humor. Even in discussing his final wishes, he never lost his ability to make others laugh, often joking, “The cremation is my last chance of a smoking hot body.”
His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the stories he preserved, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Through his military service, his years in the Sheet Metal Workers Union, and his tireless efforts preserving family histories, Johnnie leaves behind a remarkable legacy of service and remembrance.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on June 20, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at Killeen City Cemetery.
