Joey loved art, science, technology, mountain biking, running, classic cars, and motorcycles. He was working on his private pilot’s license and was able to do his solo flights, and wanted me to be his co-pilot(just like in life) but cancer prevented him from getting his license. He loved working with his hands. He taught himself to play the piano, guitar and saxophone. He was a solider and a nurse, a true “Officer and a Gentleman”, and a Renaissance Man. He lived life with absolute passion and loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Norma Martinez Colón; his four children, Adriana, Damian, Sebastian, and Maximo Colón; As well as his parents, Angel and Ana Colón; his younger brothers Danny and Erik Colón; mother-in-law, Myrna Martinez; and a grandson; God daughter Lymaris Smaw; God sons Joshua Martinez and Christian Colón; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, battle buddies, colleagues, and friends.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man… He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. ~Psalms 112:4, 7
