

Funeral services for Sgt. Joseph Maurice Hill Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights. Burial with military honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Hill died Feb. 1, 2015, in Austin doing what he loved. He was born Oct. 2, 1989, at Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany, to Joseph Sr. and Philomena Hill.
He served in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device and the NATO Medal.
Mr. Hill also served his country in the Army Reserve. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow.
He was pursuing a degree at ACC in auto body repair.
Survivors include his mother, Philomena Hill; father, Joseph Maurice Hill Sr.; sisters, Amber and Amanda; brother, Jack; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at www.crawfordbowersfuneralhome.com.
