Joyce Lavonne (Davis) Gaddis, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 5, 1935, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to John Davis and Marie Liddick Davis.
Joyce lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and unconditional love. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.
Joyce met the love of her life, Marshall Kenneth “Kenny” Gaddis, and the couple married on December 24, 1951, beginning a remarkable partnership that would span nearly 59 years until Kenny’s passing in 2010. Their enduring love story was built on faith, commitment, and devotion to family.
As a devoted Air Force wife, Joyce faithfully supported Kenny throughout his distinguished career in the United States Air Force, creating a loving home wherever duty called. Together they built a family grounded in faith, resilience, and dedication to one another.
A gifted cook and gracious hostess, Joyce found her greatest joy in bringing family together around the table. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where meals were prepared with love and memories were made for generations. Her caring nature extended beyond her family through her work with the Del Valle ISD, where she found joy in preparing and serving meals to students and staff.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marshall Kenneth “Kenny” Gaddis (1934–2010), a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, and by her parents, John Davis and Marie Liddick Davis.
