

Judy Romayne Bunch Quick, laid down her Sword and entered Eternal Rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the home of her daughter in Lampasas, Texas on February 6, 2026, at the age of 80. The eldest child, born on January 6, 1946, in Joplin, Missouri to John Laverne and Minnie Imogene (Talbot) Bunch. At Fort Hood, Texas on May 1, 1969, Judy R. Bunch entered into Holy Matrimony with Daniel Clyde Quick I, who survives and awaits their reunion. Judy was predeceased by both her mother and father, her brothers: Robert “Rex” Bunch, John “Johnny” Bunch, William “Billy” Bunch, and an unnamed older brother, and her stepmother, Beatrice “June” Bunch, her stepbrother, Darryl Reed. Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Killeen, a 1964 Graduate of Killeen High School, and a 1967 Graduate of Hillside Baptist College, School of Nursing. She served our country in the United States Army Reserve in the Army Nurse Detachment from June 1967 to January 1969 as PFC Bunch. Judy spent her younger years living abroad in Japan and France, occasionally finding herself back in the United States in places such as Missouri, Michigan, Alabama, and finally Texas. In 1969 Judy was employed at Bethesda Hospital in Hornell, NY. 1971 Judy moved to Germany with Daniel. 1974 Judy moved to Fort Benning, Georgia, where she helped other military wives acclimate to military life, and received recognition for her work helping the military spouses. 1980 she became a Girl Scout Troup Leader at Fort Benning, Ga. 1983 Judy returned to Canisteo, NY where she lived out the remainder of her life with her family and friends. Judy was a strong member of the Canisteo local churches, The First Baptist Church of Canisteo in 1979, The First Baptist Church of Adrain in 1983, and ending her membership at the Canisteo Valley Church of Christian Fellowship. Judy spent the blistering cold winters in Texas and enjoyed attending Kemper Oak Hills Baptist Church. She loved her visits with her special friend, Pat Decker. She especially loved all her family and the large family gatherings. She loved the view from her home on Catatunk Road. You could find her sitting on the front porch soaking up the beauty of God’s creation and home was always open to a visit, and she was always up for a visit. Her loving and bubbly personality made her loved by everyone she met; she always wore a smile on her face and had a gentle thought. Survivors include two daughters: Pamela (Scott) Flohr of Lampasas, TX and Yvette (David) Rechichi of West Seneca, NY, one son: Daniel (Danny) C. Quick II of Copperas Cove, TX. Judy is also survived by one brother Ferd “Leslie” Bunch of Lampasas, TX, two sisters Linda Noack of Kingsland, TX and Sue Bunch-Moore of Tow, Texas, three stepsisters Karen (Keith) Hughes of Temple, TX, Sheryl (Joseph) Bazemore of Hattiesburg, MS, and Donna (Jerry) Pustejovsky of Columbus, TX and a sister n law, Mickey Bunch of Salem-Winston, NC, 6 grandchildren Melissa (Sam) Garza-Hull, Juan “Tony”(Kira) Garza III, Garret Flohr, Makayla Flohr, Michael Rechichi, and Rachel Rechichi, 3 great granddaughters, Victoria Cleghorn, Odette Hull, and Eloise Hull, and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday February 21st from 1:00pm-2:00pm with Funeral services from 2:00-3:00pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home 1615 S. Fort Hood St, Killeen, Texas 76542. Immediately following the funeral, the family and friends will gather at Kempner Oak Hills Baptist Church 134 County Road 4931 Kempner, TX 76539 for a meal and remembrance. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, February 23rd from 9:00am to 10:00am at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542. A celebration of life will be held this summer during the month of June in the Canisteo Valley for all her beloved friends and family remaining in the Southern Tier and throughout the state of New York
