Kendall Curb

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Robert Kendall Curb, 60, of Belton, TX will be held Thursday, June 29th, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Killeen with Pastor Weldon Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery. Mr. Curb died June 25th, 2017 in his home. Mr. Curb was born June 12, 1957 in Killeen, TX to Robert Newton Curb and Alleeta Jones Curb. The Curb and Jones families have been in Bell County since the 1800's. Mr. Curb went by "Kendall" and grew up on a farm southwest of Killeen. He was active in 4-H and FFA, later serving on the Killeen Jr. Livestock Show Board. He enjoyed riding bulls in high school, and graduated from Killeen High School in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Killeen. At age 18 he worked on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline in Valdez, Alaska. He married his lifelong friend, Becky Conder in 1978 and they are the parents of twins, Travis Curb & Traci Tipping. Kendall grew up working hard and that trait stayed with him throughout his whole life. He was a welder by trade, owning K C Welding, but he was also a good carpenter and mechanic who could build or fix anything. He took pride in his work and always made sure the job was done right. Kendall enjoyed hunting, fishing, checking the pastures in his Ranger with Becky and their dog Trixie, and most of all spending time with his family. He was very proud of his children, their spouses, and his four grandchildren. Kendall believed in God and was a man of strong character. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Newton and Annie Lorena Love Curb, and William Green and Tempe Edna Perry Jones. His father, Robert Newton Curb; stepfather, Leslie Alton Kenan; sister, Jane Anne Curb; and father-in-law, Dave Ennis Conder, all of Bell County. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann Conder Curb of Belton, TX; son, Travis Robert Curb and his wife Jacklyn; daughter, Traci Rebecca Curb Tipping and her husband, Will. Grandchildren: Halle Grace Curb, Grace Rebecca Tipping, William Wyatt Tipping, and Tyler Robert Curb, all of Salado, TX. Mother, Alleeta Kenan of Belton, TX; brother, Marvin Curb and his wife Dee of Granbury, TX; sister, Shirley Mingst and her husband Fred of Belton, TX. Mother-in-law Dorothy Conder of Killeen, TX, brother-in-law Dennis Conder and his wife Catherine of Heath, TX. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Travis Curb, David Bourque, Dennis Conder, Kevin Gilbert, Tommy Hale, Wendell Land, Mac Maciel, Fred Mingst, Pat Sharp, and Will Tipping. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 28th at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Arrangements under the direction of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, TX.
