Kenneth Eugene Liles

Ken attended Killeen High School and graduated in 1971. He then received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Texas State University in San Marcos in 1976. In 1985 Ken earned his Master of Science Degree at the American Technological University in Killeen.

Ken worked as a Centel Representative, where he met his first wife, Felicia Ross (Brockett). After leaving Centel, Ken served in multiple financial positions in various state agencies, before retiring as Chief Financial Officer at the Texas Land Office.

Ken married Felicia on June 11, 1983, and they had two children, a daughter, Ashley, born December 31,1984 and a son, Ryan, born March 27, 1990. Later, he married Kristin Mayo, then his late wife, Carla, on November 19, 2022.

Ken was passionate about gardening, he was an avid learner, loved traveling, exploring, and spending time with family. He was excited to watch his grandkids swim in his pool at his house, eating pizza and ramen noodles.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Liles and mother, Norma Liles, his late wife, Carla Liles and his daughter, Ashley Liles.

He is survived by his son, Ryan Liles and daughter in law, Kylan, grandchildren, Kayanne and Micah Liles, former spouses, Felicia Brockett and Kristin Mayo, three brothers, Mike Liles and wife, Vickie, Pat Liles, and wife Lynn, Steve Liles and wife, Barbara; stepdaughters Lauren and Courtney Carpenter and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ken will always be remembered for his caring heart and the well-being of others. Ken encouraged and motivated the people around hm to live life to their fullest potential. He wanted people to thrive in life.

Ken’s hard-fought health journey over the last 10 months after a severe heart attack in September, and heart transplant in November, was filled with the Lord’s kindness in His goodness, faithfulness, grace and mercy over Ken’s life. The Lord sustained Ken. Relationships were restored and quickly deepened – a treasured gift from the Lord. Through the darkest moments of Ken’s health journey, Ken’s faith, hope and trust in the Lord became real, offering Living Hope, peace and comfort in knowing we will one day reunite with Ken in Heaven, worshiping our great God together.

We are forever grateful for the Lord’s ever presence, His restoration, flourished relationships and the joy and peace in Jesus Christ as cherished memories, in the best of times and the heartache, were shared with one another.
