

Funeral services for Kermit Cosper, 66, of Killeen, will be on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 AM at Memorial Baptist Church in Killeen. He passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at his residence on the Lampasas River near where he grew up.
He was born April 10, 1946 in Temple to Bethel Cobb and Mildred Dockery Cosper. His parents and a brother Haynes Ray Cosper preceded him in death.
Kermit served In the U. S. Navy for three years. Later he worked as electrician, carpenter and heavy equipment operator. He joined the City of Killeen Fire Department in 1973 where he served 25 years until his retirement in 1998. He was one of the original founders of Southwest Bell County VFD and he and his wife have operated Bingoland for 21 years to support the VFD and five other charities.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Edythe (Edie) Cosper, 3 stepchildren: Steven Hollon and wife, Patty, of Bishop, Ca, Lori Sprague and husband John of Northport, WA and Bill Ames Dean of Salado, TX; four grandchildren: Shannon Lane, Dustin Hollon. Annabelle Hollon, Savannah Dean and 3 great grandchildren; His brother Kenneth Cosper and wife Maryann along with many nieces and nephews.
