Larry Glyn Bishop
November 15, 1949 – October 4, 2019
Larry Glyn Bishop, 69, of Killeen, Texas succumbed to cancer surrounded by family on Friday, October 4th, 2019. Larry was preceded in death by his father Earnest Howard Bishop, his mother Pauline Matthews Bishop, and brother Tommy Lynn Bishop.
Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dayle Evans Bishop, daughter Michelle Bishop Coburn, sons Stacy Bishop and Patrick Bishop, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Larry was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. Larry lived his life by example, and every encounter was an opportunity to minister on the power of God in our lives. He was full of contagious joy, and his dedication to living God's word made sure all were welcome in his home.
Larry loved sports, especially baseball, where his influence can be seen in the many lives that he touched. In the late 70's, Larry represented the United States in fast-pitch softball at the Pan American games and was slated to represent USA in the Olympics. Larry worked as a general contractor for almost 50 years, lending his talents to building projects all over the nation.
Larry would spend his free time fishing, playing golf, and digging for arrowheads. He would dig every chance he got, and loved to share the knowledge of the artifacts with others.
There will be a celebration of life for friends and family in Killeen on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home at 4 pm. This celebration will be casual, as he requested, so there will be no formal funeral service. Come and go as you please as we fellowship and share stories of the many ways his impacted our own.
