

Funeral services for Lorine Marie Schorn, 95, of Killeen will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen.
Lorine passed away in Temple February 4 after a brief illness.
She was born to Walter and Meta Schulze Daude on November 1, 1917 in the original parsonage for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was the granddaughter of Rev H F Daude, the first pastor at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
On April 4, 1937 she married Reuben Schorn, a local farmer. When WWII began they moved to Killeen where they both worked in Killeen schools. She also worked in several grocery stores and retired after 30 years at Rancier Beauty Shop.
Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and raising African Violets. She enjoyed the companionship of her little poodle Shadow and many friends at Immanuel and the Bob Gilmore Center which she frequently visited until December.
Lorine is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Reuben Schorn, her sister Louise Vahrenkamp, brothers Robert, Edmund and Melvin Daude all of Killeen, a granddaughter Brenda Hockenbrock Zanek and grandson Donnie Schorn.
She is survived by her son Eldor Schorn (Elaine) of Killeen and daughter Arlys Hilliard (Pete) of Harker Heights, and her brother Walter Daude (Randa) of Killeen. She will also be missed by 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and her extended family members.
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund and the Bob Gilmore Senior Center Renovation Fund.
