

Memorial services for Marion Morris “King” Gentry 96 of Killeen will be Friday, May 14, 2010, at 10:30 AM at Rosewood Retirement Center. Mr. Gentry was born Sept 12, 1913 in Wise County Texas and passed away on May 7, 2010 in Killeen.
He was reared and educated in Decatur, Texas where he graduated from high school and also attended
Decatur Baptist College. He served from 1933 to 1934 in the Civilian Conservation Corps before enlisting in the US Army for 22 years retiring at the rank of Major. He also worked for 14 years for civil service. He served in the Atlanic and Pacific Theaters of Operation during WW II. Also served in Italy.
He was an endowed member of Killeen Masonic Lodge #1125, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of Karem Shrine, Fort Hood Chapter of the National Sojourners and the heroes of “76.
He had lived in the area for over 55 years. He married Zoe Mills Feb.1, 1942 in Kerens, she preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1998 after 55 years of marriage. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Killeen.
Survivors include his daughters Mary Veselka and husband Johnny of Cedar Park and Betty Anderson and husband Sam of Austin. Five grandchildren Michael Sharpley of Austin, Jefferson Bunce and his wife Sarah of San Pedro, CA, Kristin Duane and her husband Jason of Allen , Rebecca Bunce of Austin and Bethany Veselka of Dallas and two Great Grandchildren Jacob Duane and Kindal Duane of Allen.
The family request memorials are made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the charity of your choice.
There will be a visitation on Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
