

Visitation services for Marge Haedge, age 85 of Killeen will be on Saturday, March 21st, at 9 a.m. at Covenant Life Church in Killeen, Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at Covenant Life Church in Killeen.
Burial will follow in the Pidcoke Cemetery on CR 142. Pastor Mark Price will officiate the funeral and burial.
Mrs. Haedge died March 10, 2026, at Advent Hospital in Killeen, Texas unexpectedly. She was born on December 21,1940 in Park Ridge, Illinois. She was the only daughter of Harold Charles Fraunofer and Caroline “Carolyn” Barbara Kost. Marge grew up with an older brother, Harold “Hal” Gene Fraunofer.
Marge attended her schooling in Park Ridge, Illinois and went to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1959 she received her associate and bachelor’s degrees in education there.
After Marge graduated from Drake University, she moved to San Antonio to live with her brother, Hal and his wife, Joyce, she taught first grade in San Antonio.
One marvelous day Miss Marjory Ann Fraunofer met the love of her life, Kenneth Lee Haedge. They met by the oak tree in his family’s front yard on a blind date. The tree is still there today. They soon fell in love and were married on June 13,1964 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas. They were married for fifty-eight blessed years. Together they created a life rich with laughter and unforgettable memories.
Marge taught for 33 years at KISD. She dedicated her life to working in education as a teacher, vice principal and finally as a principal. She taught elementary school at Harker Heights Elementary School, Pershing Park Elementary School, vice principal at Duncan Elementary School, principal at Marlboro Elementary School and lastly the first principal of Reese’s Creek Elementary School,
It was her desire for learning that led her to earn her master’s degree in education from Tarleton State University at Stephenville, Texas.
After becoming a principal at Reese’s Creek Elementary School, Marge received the Educator of the Year award for KISD.
Marge was a lifelong learner. She was always looking for ways to continually improve herself.
Marge and Kenneth were never blessed with children. She considered all her former students as her children. Many of her former students stayed connected with Marge as adults.
Marge leaves behind a legacy in education and the legacy will endure among all the lives she touched.
Becoming a teacher was just not a career for Marge, it was a proud accomplishment that she embraced with her passion for learning.
She touched a lot of lives in her 85 years, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was a member of Covenant Life Church in Killeen. She was a faithful member of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth Lee Haedge.
Survivors include her brother, Hal Fraunofer and his wife, Joyce, of New Braunfels, her sister-in-law, Sharon Erwin, and husband, Robert of Kempner. Nephews Brad Butts, Alan Erwin, Mark Frank, Peter and Steven Fraunhofer. Nieces Amy Erwin Aldridge, Cindy Rum. Janine Rothman, Marianne Seider and Lisa Dawn Singleton.
Marge is also survived by a host of friends and her beloved and faithful dog, Calvin Earl Haedge.
The family requests memorials be in her honor to the Covenant Life Church at 4001 E Elms Rd. Killeen, Texas 76542.
