Mary Dixon Mohler-Smith

Ms. Mohler was born in Killen on September 12, 1925 to Bill and Iona Dixon. She lived most of her life in Killeen and attended Killeen High School, retired from KISD where she was a secretary and was active in her church and a member of the Eastern Star.

During her beautiful life she met and married Herbert Alton Mohler and after his death in 1982 she remarried to Merle Smith in 1986. A viewing will be held at 10:00 am-11:00 am on Monday August 3rd at Crawford-Bower Funeral Home on Highway 195 in Killeen. Burial will be immediately following at Killeen Cemetery on Rancier Avenue. At Ms. Mohler’s request Buddy Laird will officiate the short service at the gravesite. A celebration of life will be on Thursday August 6 at Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church in Katy at 10 AM.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Lynn Keeling, Jeremy Mohler, Jonathan Mohler, David Mohler, Trey Laird, Justin Trotter and great grandson Cort Laird.

Survivors include her 3 children Carolyn Mohler Keeling and husband Rob Robertson of Katy, TX, Daniel Mohler and his wife Patsy of Hurst, TX and Donald Mohler and his wife Gail of Austin, Texas and her sister Della Hope Reid of Kempner, TX., 10 grandchildren and and 15 great grandchildren ane many nieces and nephews. Ms. Mohler is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Alton Mohler and Merle Smith and her brother Lloyd Dixon.

God makes no mistakes. He blessed our family when he created Mary Virginia Dixon Mohler Smith as his servant and a beautiful, loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend that will be missed by all that knew her and loved her dearly.
