With deepest sorrow, we announce that Max Craig Hebert, 61, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, family member and friend passed 31 October 2020 at his home in Cedar Park, Texas with his loving wife Beverly at his side. Those who knew Max, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Born 14 February 1959 in Wurzburg, Germany, to James and Gloria Hebert, Max proved to be a baby full of love as well as mischief. He loved life and loved to laugh. From an early age, Max was gregarious and fun loving. He had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others. He was the boy that fit in with everyone and you just couldn’t dislike him. Often the recipient of pranks from his brother and sisters, to him we say, “Yes this !@#$ is funny”.

Max served a short stint in the Navy from 1979 to 1982. He was intrigued by the travel and loved seeing the world. Although his time in the Navy was short, he always held it as a patriotic place in his heart. After leaving the Navy, Max worked as a Special Education Teacher Assistant. He loved his kids and understood their struggles. He wanted to help them overcome their obstacles and guide them to a better life. Max’s later years brought a name change to Grandpa. He loved his grand/great grandchildren immensely. They were the light of his life and brought him great joy.

Max is predeceased by his parents James and Gloria Hebert and sister Michelle Hebert. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hebert of Cedar Park, Texas; brother and sisters Mike (Mary) Hebert of Austin, Texas, Monique Hebert of Killeen, Texas and Dani (Javier) Villalobos of Mansfield, Texas; children Travis (Thuy) Brown of Oregon City, Oregon, Jennifer Koret of Cedar Park, Texas and Jodi Brown of Cedar Park, Texas; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are made at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, Texas. Viewing will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killeen Texas from 8:30 – 9:30; Funeral mass to follow at 9:30. Open burial will be at Maxdale Cemetery 4 November 2020 directly following the mass.

When Bev and I taught together I would frequently answer the phone and get to chat with Max. He was always fun and warm and loved Bev so much. I’ll never forget her daily love notes he packed in her lunch. So sweet. Sending love to The Browns, Heberts, and Korets during this time. Love, Sarah
