

She was born in Offenbach, Germany. She lived through the horrors of World War II and the hard times that followed. It was during the American occupation of Germany that Meta met and married her beloved husband, William T. Allen.
She was thrilled to come to America. She taught herself to read and write English. In January of 1959, she became an American citizen.
She was an avid reader. She loved crocheting and knitting. She made hundreds of afghans. She was a great listener and storyteller. When Meta told a story you felt you were right there with her. She lived to be 92 years old was a widow for 30 years. She never stopped talking about her Willie. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She served in the Church as a teacher for children and adults. She would teach the younger ladies at Church how to cook German food. She served as an ordinance worker in the Dallas, Texas Temple. Children were the joy of Meta’s life. First her own, then her grandchildren, then 40 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband, William T. Allen, Sr.
She is survived by her children Raymond Allen, William T. Allen, Jr, Minnie A. Ray and Tom Lee Allen, Sr. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
