Maria Migdalia Forbes received her heavenly wings on November 30, 2025, embraced by the love of her siblings, nieces, and nephews. In her final moments, she was surrounded by the very people whose lives she had filled with joy, comfort, and unwavering devotion. She was deeply cherished by all who knew her. A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Migdalia left this world at the age of 72 in Killeen, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love that cannot be measured. Born on September 27, 1953, in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico, to Juan E. Nunez and Esperanza Nunez, Migdalia carried her roots, her faith, and her family close to her heart throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose world revolved around her daughter and granddaughter; they were her greatest joys, and her proudest blessings.
Migdalia now reunites in heaven with her parents, Juan E. Nunez and Esperanza Nunez and her brothers Heriberto Nunez and Juan E. Nunez. Though their absence is deeply felt on earth, their reunion in Heaven is surely a joyous one.
Migdalia is survived by her daughter Christina Forbes and her granddaughter Reece Battafarano; both carry her love within them forever. She is also survived by her brothers Abel Nunez (Celia), Leonel Nunez (Teresa), and Martin Nunez (Lola); and her sisters Deyanira Cuen (Ramon) and Maria Idolina Sanchez, all of whom will forever feel the imprint of her gentle spirit in their lives. Migdalia’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love touched every heart she encountered. Her presence was a blessing, her laughter a comfort, and her compassion a gift. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will carry her memory as a light that will continue to shine—guiding, comforting, and reminding us of the beautiful soul she was. Her love remains, her spirit remains, and she will forever be remembered by all those that were blessed to have known her. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 13, 2025, at 2:00pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.
