Patria Edwards Atkinson “Patty”, 78, passed away November 15, 2014 in Temple, TX. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, TX. Services will be held at 10:30, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Killeen First Church of the Nazarene, Killeen, TX. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Patria was born Jan. 20, 1936 in Matheson, CO, to James and Roberta Edwards. She worked in the car business for over 20 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Garlyn Shelton, Fred Brown Mazda and Dennis Eakin Mazda. She also enjoyed being an office manager and retired in 1998 to spend time with her husband. She was a long time member of Killeen First Church of the Nazarene. Patria is survived by her husband, Charles Atkinson and four children, Cheryl (Dale) Vonderharr, Gary Atkinson, Cynthia (Patrick) Hughes, Renee (Roger) Armstrong, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Ryan Evan. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Susan B Komen Foundation.
